Fall 2009 Newsletter

Launch of the JK Gift Shop!  Now featured at The Interior Design Studio is our newly expanded gift shop.  We have a great selection of unique gifts for the hostess, birthday, wedding or any occasion.  Fun, whimsy, stylish and unique- stop in to see what is new.  We are more than just interior design!! 

In this newsletter I would like to explore with you the concept of redecorating a kitchen of one of our clients.  First of all the term redecorating means no existing walls were moved or relocated.  We used the existing cabinetry and room layout.  However that being said, this is definitely not the end of this story.

 

The biggest change in this project was the floor.  We brought the kitchen, foyer, hall, and half bath together by using the same porcelain tile in all the areas.  To add interest we used different sizes along with different patterns of tile.  Meaning the direction in which the tile is laid.

 

To Further ignite this kitchen redo counters and backsplash were also changed.  This brought a fresh and contemporary splash to this once dated space.  The island was faced with iridescent tile, to further enhance the glamour of this makeover and join the floor and walls together.  The floor pallet for this makeover was black, copper, silver, and taupe.  Sounding rather dark?  Well you are wrong these colors transformed this home into the most sophisticated, and warm environment I have done.
